"...the best example of
synergy since Tracy and Hepburn"
-- Chris Olsen, AP Stats listserve, Dec 3, 2003.
Fifty Fathoms is a collection of fifty demonstrations
that try to get at some of the tough ideas in an introductory statistics
course. The book comes with a CD-ROM packed with cool files; the
printed pages tell you how to use them.
And why are they so cool? Because they use Fathom
Dynamic Statistics (TM) software from Key Curriculum Press.
The CD includes a limited-use edition of Fathom so
you can use the demos. But if you own a full-featured Fathom—even
a Student version—you can customize these demos, and make
better use of them.
The demos in the book run the gamut from first-week
stuff like the meaning of mean and median to really confusing topics
such as the power of hypothesis tests.
Note: This book is for Fathom Version 1.
